Sketching with Ruby Ruby is an experienced illustrator and designer who uses her creative medium to communicate her experience of anxiety to those around her. With experiences ranging from exhibition work, book publications, architectural practice and fine art, Ruby will guide you through understanding sketching techniques such as movement, scale, composition and colour through the medium of watercolour, to apply to drawings that capture a specific emotion or memory. Throughout the session Ruby will help you express yourself through art whilst exploring a different way to relax. Join us in April for six weekly sessions via Zoom at 6.00pm each Tuesday evening starting 16th April. As well as learning a fun, new craft, you’ll also learn how to explore a different way to unwind, be mindful, and maintain good mental health – all in a creative way. You don’t need any previous experience to join the course, just an open mind, an interest in learning a new skill and a willingness to explore new ways to relax, helping provide a distraction from anxiety, stress or anxiety-based depression. The materials required for this course are: A watercolour set with an assortment of colours Coloured pens (Optional) Card / Thick paper (varying sizes if possible) And ideally, a single piece of paper in the colour you currently associate with idea of Spring for a small exercise in week 1.
