Anxiety UK is seeking to recruit new trustees. If you would like to contribute to the work of the leading charity in the UK that supports those affected by anxiety, we would like to hear from you.
Anxiety UK was founded in 1970 by Katharine and Harold Fisher following Katharine’s experience of agoraphobia. Today, Anxiety UK is still a small, friendly, user-led organisation that is, run by and for individuals with lived experience of anxiety. The charity has a membership of over 10,000 and is nationally recognised for its responsive service delivery offer which currently includes therapy services, helpline provision, online groups, training and EAP services.
Anxiety UK has a strong digital presence with a substantial following on social media, particularly on Twitter and has a plan to grow digital engagement and service provision over the next 5 years as part of its business plan.
As a result, we are looking to recruit a new trustee, with specific expertise in (although applications from individuals with expertise in other areas would be considered):
Lived experience of anxiety essential.
Digital media and marketing
Individuals located in the South East/South of the UK
We pay trustees’ travel expenses and provide a full induction to the work of the charity.
The trustee we appoint to this role will be expected to attend four board meetings (currently held remotely) plus occasional other meetings/events, held in Manchester.
