Hello! Thank you so much for posting on the message board. Nutrition and anxiety is a really interesting topic and it can be very helpful to remember the ways that certain foods can impact our mood. Too much sugar and caffeine can cause us to peak and crash which can affect our emotions. You may be interested in the tips and advice in our ‘Nutrition and Anxiety’ self-help guide which can be found here: https://www.anxietyuk.org.uk/get-help/nutrition-and-anxiety/.

Speaking personally, I don’t have a sweet tooth so I don’t eat much sugar, but I love coffee and I have definitely noticed that my stress levels increase if I have more than one cup a day. In my own experience, I have also found that drinking plenty of water really helps. I wonder if anyone else has any experience they could add?
