Make good on your resolution to get fit, get involved & make a difference!

Most people will have given up their New Year resolution by now. Maybe yours was to get fit, get involved or give back. Well, March is a perfect time to make good on those plans that seemed so possible back in January.

We know we say it A LOT, but we couldn’t continue our work without the support of our members and donors. You really do make a difference to our work and our ability to be there for thousands of anxiety sufferers every year.
So, why don’t you call on that motivation from the New Year and take part in a fundraising event for Anxiety UK? There are countless events happening all throughout the country all year. Here are a few suggestions of upcoming events that you could take part in on behalf of Anxiety UK:

ASICS Greater Manchester Marathon – 6th April 2014
This is an excellent event to take part in if you are looking to beat your personal best. With only 54m of elevation, the ASICS Greater Manchester Marathon in Trafford is the flattest marathon course in the UK. It is also potentially the fastest.

We have THREE places on offer and only ask that you make a small deposit (to cover the costs of the place) and pledge to raise £150 for us. To enquire about taking a place, email media@anxietyuk.org.uk

Bupa Great Manchester Run – 18th May 2014
This event is being billed as Europe’s biggest 10K and at only £38 for a place, it’s affordable and allows you to donate a larger portion of your sponsorship funds to Anxiety UK. To find out how to register, visit www.greatrun.org

Tough Mudder – Various dates across the country
Not for the faint of heart, Tough Mudder events are ‘hardcore 12 mile-long obstacle courses designed by the Special Forces to test your all around strength, stamina, mental grit, and camaraderie.’

We already have a few people who are booked on Tough Mudder events and if you’d like to join them, visit www.toughmudder.co.uk for more information.

Running not your thing?
We hear you! Not everyone will be up for (or able to) do a running event. But you can still get involved. Things like cake sales at your workplace, sponsored nights in (where you invite friends around for a dinner party and/or drinks and they pay what they would usually spend on a night out), and car washes are all great ideas. The sky is the limit!

These are just some suggestions from the hundreds of events happening in 2014. To register your event, get a fundraising pack and raise funds for Anxiety UK, email media@anxietyuk.org.uk
