Helpline services

Helpline services are open to all including non-members.

We offer support, advice and information on all anxiety, stress and anxiety-based depression conditions. Our helpline services are open to anyone of any age, (parental consent is not required to call the helpline and you can read more about confidentiality below), with an interpretation service available to those who require it. Our friendly volunteers can answer your questions, discuss techniques for immediate short-term relief of anxiety symptoms and help you find the right path of action for long-term support.

Anxiety UK is open to all and our volunteers are equipped with the knowledge to help with special requirements and needs. This includes those who have hearing loss, sight loss, autism and Tourette syndrome. Please just let us know if you have any accessibility issues and we will accommodate where we can to give you the anxiety support you require.

Call us on 03444 775 774 between 10.30am – 4.30pm, Monday – Friday (except bank holidays).

You may find that calls to our helpline number are included in your phone plan as calls are the same as dialing an 01 or 02 number. The national rate for these types of calls is generally up to 9p from landlines and from 3p to 55p on mobile phones.

Anxiety UK’s helpline service is confidential and your caller ID is not visible. For more information about call recording please read here.

We are unable to make outgoing calls,  so ask that you don’t request us to call you back.

“Having spoken to someone this morning, I just wanted to say thank you and that I am extremely happy with how I was helped with my anxiety.”

All contacts received through the helpline services are answered by a trained volunteers/staff. Volunteers use the pseudonym ‘Chris’ when communicating via our helpline services.

Confidentiality: All contact with our helpline services will be kept strictly confidential within the organisation, other than in cases where there may be a threat of terrorism or of significant harm to an individual.

Who can access our helpline services: We are able to provide support to anyone regardless of UK residency status; indeed we have members from all over the world.

Hearing loss and/or speech-impediment assistance: We recommend the use of Relay UK when calling the helpline if you are deaf or speech-impaired.
