The Anxiety UK Live Chat is an instant messaging service where you can speak to one of our trained volunteers, many of whom have personal experience of anxiety and depression. They can help you navigate around the site, and will be able to answer any specific questions you may have about managing your anxiety.
Please note that this is not a counselling service, and as such chat times will be limited to ten minutes. Live chat is available between the hours of 9.30AM and 5.30PM Monday to Friday and is subject to volunteer availability. If you have a question outside this time-frame, please email firstname.lastname@example.org and we will endeavour to respond to your message as quickly as possible.
Please click the icon on the right hand side of the page to access to live chat.
The Live Chat service is overseen by volunteers, who offer their time to help support others with anxiety. Abusive or inappropriate behaviour will not be tolerated and our volunteers reserve the right to terminate a chat without prior warning if these rules are breached.
We are not a crisis service, and if you do feel at risk we encourage you to call 999 or your local crisis team. If you would like to speak to someone for emotional support, please call the Samaritans on 116 123.
Chat conversations are confidential and you are not obligated to reveal your name or email address unless you choose to. Anxiety UK will not divulge any information to third parties unless the information is relevant under the Prevention of Terrorism Act, in which case we are obliged to disclose all information to the police.
Live Chat conversations are stored for no longer than 24 hours. If nobody is available to chat, you will have the option of sending an email which will require you to provide us with an email address. All support emails received (including offline chat messages) will be archived in a secure server for 6 months after receipt due to legal reasons, after which they will be deleted.
