Anxiety UK partners with Headspace to offer free subscription to AUK Members!

From the 2nd of November 2015, Anxiety UK will be offering free subscriptions to Headspace with their Membership offer.

Anxiety UK- the UK’s leading anxiety charity- has recently partnered with Headspace, the lifestyle app known as ‘a gym membership for the mind’. Using proven meditation and mindfulness techniques Headspace helps its users to train their minds, to experience benefits including less stress, better sleep, focus and improved relationships.

Founded in 2010 by Rich Pierson and Andy Puddicombe, the Headspace platform offers unique content varying from guided meditations to animations and videos via the Headspace website and mobile app, teaching users the techniques of mindfulness. The Headspace journey includes a 30-day pack focussing specifically on anxiety, as well as 2 minute ‘SOS’ sessions, designed to help users in moments of high anxiety. Just 10 day’s practice has been shown to have wide-ranging benefits, from improving sleep and relationships to reducing anxiety and stress. With no chanting, no sitting cross-legged, no incense and definitely no gurus – this is meditation for modern living.

Headspace already has 4 million users meditating daily, and from the 2nd November 2015 Anxiety UK is now offering a year’s subscription to Headspace for free via Anxiety UK’s Membership offer. By partnering with Anxiety UK, Headspace are fulfilling their mission of improving the health and happiness of the world through their Get Some / Give Some programme, which donates free subscriptions to charities such as Anxiety UK to help support members.

Along with offering access to a subscription to Headspace, the charity provides further support to those affected by anxiety via an exclusive range of services including: fast access to talking therapies with an Anxiety UK approved therapist including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Clinical Hypnotherapy and Counselling; access to several specialist helplines including a psychiatric pharmacy helpline; subscription to the quarterly Anxious Times magazine; and access to a members only area of the Anxiety UK website. A number of tailored membership support packages are available in addition to individual membership support packages including family memberships and student memberships.
