Anxiety UK works to relieve and support those living with anxiety disorders by providing information, support and understanding via an extensive range of services, including 1:1 therapy, a national helpline and peer mentoring services. We are also the leading campaigning organisation for anxiety.

We provide the highest quality professional training in a range of areas relating to anxiety and stress. All training sessions are developed and delivered by mental health professionals. We have a number of training packages we regularly deliver to professionals, services users and carers throughout the UK, and can also devise bespoke training packages tailored specifically to your individual organisational needs.

Anxiety disorders awareness training

This training package covers the following:

  • What is anxiety?
  • How does anxiety affects us?
  • What are the physical, psychological and behavioural aspects of anxiety?
  • What are the causes of anxiety?
  • What are the most common anxiety disorders and how many people suffer with anxiety?
  • What are the most frequently presented anxiety disorders?

Condition specific training courses

Anxiety UK offers training specific to any anxiety condition, for organisations where these conditions are a particular issue. For example Cancer Research UK telephone helpline staff received training in health anxiety.

Health Anxiety (Hypochondriasis)

This training package covers the following:

Service user involvement

Training covers information on the primary care service user perspective, personal experiences from local users of services and a fully referenced presentation, making the case for user involvement within primary and secondary care services.

This training has been delivered to psychological wellbeing practitioners at UCL and University of Manchester

£500 for a half day
£800 for a full day

About Anxiety UK’s trainers

Ben Crouch is an experienced trainer with a strong background in mental health. Ben was trained to design and deliver training by the British Council and is committed to ensuring positive learning experiences for all participants that attend training he facilitates.

Ben is a registered Mental Health First Aid instructor, has been the Director of a community mental health charity and is currently serving as the Chair of a large mental health charity in Manchester.

Ben has lived with general anxiety disorder and panic attacks for over 10 years and is willing to share his own experiences and knowledge to help benefit others living with or affected by these conditions.

Participants who have attended training and workshops delivered by Ben have described his style as personable, knowledgable and professional.

Trainers may also be Anxiety UK staff who have considerable experience in the field of anxiety disorders.
