This form of therapy aims to improve how people think, feel and behave by looking at positive thoughts and behaviours. The term “neuro” refers to the interaction of the mind and the body. The term “linguistic” refers to understanding how a person is thinking by the language that is used. The term “programming” refers to looking at the behaviour patterns that people have in their daily lives.
NLP uses positive body and verbal language to work towards improving anxiety. It is a great technique for helping you to set goals and move forward in your life and has some elements of coaching and clinical hypnotherapy.

Hello,
I have an intense fear of flying and I have a flight booked for early March which is already causing me significant distress (lack of sleep, constant feelings of nervousness, tearfulness, feelings of depression). I feel that if I don’t fly this time then my fear will just be reinforced, plus I will be letting other people down, but I am not coping well with the prospect of flying. The last time I travelled by plane in 2003 I had a panic attack when I boarded and was extremely uncomfortable for the whole flight, and I vowed to not put myself through the experience again.
I am generally an anxious person and have been through quite bad episodes of obsessional thinking. For 18 months now I have been experiencing frequent ectopic heartbeats which although are not directly related to anxiety, they can be triggered by stressful situations.
Do you think NLP will help me overcome my phobia and perhaps later my general anxiety?
Thanks
Yes without doubt, NLP would be great for you.
