Getting started
Once you have chosen what you want to do (your event), its time to get started with your fundraising. Don't worry if you haven't done anything like this before; the majority of people who are involved with fundraising events haven't either, and you can always obtain support and advice from the ANXIETY UK at any time by contacting us.
The first thing you should do is:
Create your very own fundraising web page
This is a really good way of raising funds as you can email the page to your friends and family and they can donate online, at the click of a button. It is very easy and quick to set up.
Create and use your sponsor form
NPs can provide you with sponsorship forms tailored to your needs.
Once you have created your sponsorship form ensure that you distribute the form among your family and friends and ask them in turn to pass it round their friends and family increasing the circulation. A top tip is to make up the first amount on your form, for example £20 as normally people will follow suit.
Publicise your event
Get the local press involved. ANXIETY UK's press officer can assist you with this, please contact Anna at
It's great to let people in your area know what you are doing and it provides a good opportunity to plug your personalised fundraising webpage.
If you require any support or further information, do not hesitate to contact us.
