Service users and carers with a query about psychiatric medication can ask an expert in a special online forum next week.
Manchester Mental Health and Social Care Trust’s Head of Pharmacy Petra Brown will be answering queries as part of Anxiety UK’s web surgery on Wednesday 19 December at 6pm.
Petra has more than 20 years’ experience as a pharmacist and has worked in mental health services for 17 years. “This is a great way for people to ask questions that they have about the medication they are taking, to understand any side effects and to know more about how it will help them to feel better,” says Petra.
Anxiety UK provides quarterly expert-led, online support surgeries on a range of topics for members.
Andrew Kearins, Services Co-ordinator for Anxiety UK said: “These events give people a bit of extra support. We do receive a lot of calls about medication and this gives people an opportunity to find out more from an expert.”
